DENVER, Colo. — Brooks Elise Walker, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, died unexpectedly on September 14, 2026, in Denver, Colorado.
Her sudden passing has left family, friends and loved ones grieving a woman remembered for her adventurous spirit, generosity, humor and love for life.
Remembering Brooks Elise Walker
Brooks was born on January 28, 1990, to Eben Walker and Patty Brooks Walker. She grew up in Riverside alongside her brothers and neighborhood friends and attended Riverside School and Greenwich Country Day School during her elementary and middle school years.
From an early age, Brooks developed a passion for figure skating and sailing. She later sailed competitively at Riverside Yacht Club, Greenwich High School and Georgetown University.
A Career Built Around Relationships
After college, Brooks worked in finance before moving into software sales.
She particularly enjoyed meeting new customers and building relationships with them. Her family remembered that she often viewed her clients as friends rather than simply business contacts.
That ability to connect with people became an important part of the way she approached both her professional and personal life.
A Woman Who Loved Adventure
Brooks carried her adventurous spirit into many areas of her life.
She enjoyed skiing and hiking in the Colorado mountains, cold plunges in the Rhode Island ocean and traveling whenever she had the opportunity. Her family remembered that she was almost always ready for her next journey, with her suitcase often half packed.
Away from those adventures, Brooks also enjoyed tending her Colorado garden, creating oil paintings and listening to many different kinds of music.
Singing, particularly Gospel music, held a special place in her life and gave her a meaningful way to connect with God.
The Little Things Her Family Will Remember
Those who knew Brooks remembered her generous heart and strong sense of humor.
She enjoyed celebrating the people she loved and took pleasure in finding thoughtful gifts for family and friends. She also had a lifelong love of strawberry ice cream, a simple personal detail that remains part of the memories her loved ones will carry forward.
Her energy, curiosity and willingness to embrace new experiences helped make her memorable to the people around her.
Brooks Walker’s Family and Loved Ones
Brooks is survived by her parents, her brothers Colin and Andrew and their spouses, Diah and Nathalia, as well as her nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Scout and Brady.
Her family and friends continue to remember Brooks for the relationships she built, the passions she pursued and the joy she brought into their lives.
Memorial Service and Donations
A memorial service for Brooks Elise Walker will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or another charity of the donor’s choice.
Brooks will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
